DIWALI British Shorthairs & Selkirk Rex
Specialist Breeder of British Bi- & Tri- Colours
Also breeding British Blues, Creams, Blacks, Torties, Blue-Creams (and associated colours), and in joint partnership, breeding Selkirk Rex.
My name is Charis White.
I have held a G.C.C.F. registered prefix since 1988.
My cats and I live in Cardiff, South Wales. We are only twenty minutes along the M4 from the Severn Bridge and only a few minutes off the motorway - very easy to get to! From the north - just an hour from the M5 at the M50 junction. Easy access also from the South or West.
I first started showing cats in 1983, with Harmahkis Blue Saskia, a Russian Blue. Saskia sadly died in December 2001, aged 18. I also owned her sister and two half brothers during those eighteen years, but Saskia outlived them all.
I obtained my first British Shorthair cat in 1984, and have been successfully showing British cats ever since. I currently have several studs and a number of breeding queens. I bred some of them myself and some others have Diwali ancestors. I also enjoy showing neuters (see below).
Some of the successful DIWALI cats can be seen on my `Roll of Honour`
Grand Champion & UK Grand Premier Diwali Mumtaz Mahal (31a) (1995 - 2007)
and
Champion & Grand Premier Diwali Dhita (22a) Both are daughters of: Gr Ch Maruja Samson x Creedence Charlotte
In the last few years I have also enjoyed owning and breeding Oriental Shorthairs, and showing Oriental Longhairs, although I don't have any now. I really love the Oriental breed with its variety of colours and patterns.
